Micro-combat is a cooperative game, in which you have to work as a team to win.

Sepsis, pneumonia or tuberculosis are some of the infections whose treatment has been difficult due to antimicrobial resistance. The loss of efficacy of antibiotics is already one of the biggest threats to global health and every year that passes more lives are claimed.

In this context, the Antimicrobial Resistance Initiative of the Barcelona Institute of Global Health (ISGlobal) has designed Micro-Combat, a didactic card game to fight against bacterial resistance. The aim is to sensitize the younger generations about resistance to antibiotics and promote their correct use in a playful way.

Micro-Combat has received the Award for the “Best Communication and Public Awareness Initiative” awarded by the National Antibiotic Resistance Plan of the Spanish Medicines Agency. ISGlobal will allocate the profits obtained from the sale of the game to research into new antibiotics.
